The Yari Samurai will become the main unit in your army. They are tough in combat, well armoured, and excellent against cavalry (unless charged when spears are facing the opposite direction). They have strong defensive properties, and can be used to secure a hill or absorb enemy archer fire. They are good, all-round fighting troops. Their weaknesses are that they are fairly slow, and the aforementioned cavalry charge to the rear, which can be very destructive if the unit is disordered.
