This tutorial is designed to help members who are not familiar with file transfers and image processing. We apologize in advance if you find some of the details insulting
If you think you don't need the tutorial, then all you need to do is to attach your image files (preferably saved as .jpg ~ 100Kb each, no need to shrink the image size) and the war story (any format readable by a PC will be fine) to Dongal (dongal1@excite.com). We will be grateful seeing all pictures and text nicely set up in .htm, even the .pdf format, but they are not required.
Ok! so now you have obtained the save game file from our respectful executor. His tutorial should teach you how to get the save game file working. Then,
1. While fighting the battle, don't forget to TAKE SCREEN SHOTS. This can be simply done by pressing F2 (one key, right above the @/2 key). The F2 key is activated on both the strategy map mode as well as the battlefield mode. You only need to take screen shots on the battlefield. Every time you press F2, an image file of exactly what you see on the screen is stored.
2. Each image file takes about 1 Mega Bite. They will be stored in a folder called "TGA" under your shogun directory. You will see it numbered nicely as 000000.TGA, 000001.TGA, etc.
3. If you can open these image files, that's great and please go to (5). If you cannot, please go to (4).
4. You need a program to open these screen shots. You can find one in the official STW site: http://www.totalwar.com/community/downloads.htm (near the bottom). If you need to convert the file into a smaller one (such as .jpg), you will need another program such as HyperSnap (http://www.hyperionics.com/index.html), Adobe Photoshop, etc. If you still have trouble getting one, please email Vanya (LinkSlice@yahoo.com)
5. Now you can see your screen shots. Please pick some of the more informative pictures (we cannot afford a movie!) and convert them (SAVE AS) to .jpg. You might want to rename them to follow the correct sequence.
