![]() | New Mongol Invasion Preview - Wednesday, May 30, 2001 | ![]() |
Yes, it's yet another new preview of the upcoming expansion pack, this one at pc.ign.com. This one hints at a beta version of the game in the previewers' possession, which is a sure sign of the approach of the release. In my opinion, we can start considering the "late June" date the last word, unless there are unexpected delays. Enough rambling - click here to go to the preview!

![]() | Tenki League Update - Sunday, May 20, 2001 | ![]() |
Last Sunday the Tenk Tourney was continued and the day ended with only five players still not out of the event. The semifinals will played on Tuesday at 7.00pm GMT and these are the fixtures: Decider: LonelyWolf vs Tankdogg Then the semifinals as follows: Kocmoc vs (winner of decider) LordTed vs Fogolin This competition turned out to be a great success and may the best player win! Today we also bring news on ShogunZone which in the last days was down. The webmaster of the fansite, sonic_nights, had some problems with his own personal computer and to increase the crisis their new server doesn't support the .asp format which is the type ShogunZone uses. Sonic is trying to solve the problems as fast as possible and this great fansite will surely be back up soon.

![]() | Chat Server Update - Saturday, May 19, 2001 | ![]() |
This weekend the EA online chat server will be undergoing some serious, urgent tweaking especially after last week's inferno. Hopefully the operations will not interfere with the Tenki tourney which will end tomorrow. For Nvidia cards users there is some great news on the horizon as well: A patch for Nvidia drivers will be released soon for the joy of the many ill-fated users. In addition, there are a only a few vacant seats left in the Dread Clan league so hurry up and enlist here until it's too late! One question passed through my tired brain though: why aren't the Dreads themselves not participating? This is a long-term event therefore I think there is enough time for these great generals to take part!

![]() | Add-on News - Wednesday, May 9, 2001 | ![]() |
Technical problems with the multiplayer online strategy map have delayed yet again the release of Mongol Invasion expansion pack. To secure a June release, it was decided to ship the x-pack without the online campaign option. The latter will be available for a free download shortly after the June release. This maybe bad news for some, but it's better to have the Mongols on our shelves as soon as possible! Also, our fellow developers have released all the new multiplayer options available in the add-on: Last Man Standing: Normal game rules apply. Capture the Honjin: Everyone has a honjin, and when it gets captured your entire force gets routed off the field - the side who still has forces at the end wins. King of the Hill: one target area which everyone has to capture. First team to hold it for a certain amount of time wins. May amend this to the team who held it longest wins. Halve The Enemy: Lose half your forces thru death or routing and your out. Last daimyo standing is the winner. Assassinate General: Protect your general. Lose him and you can't win, but you can still fight. The last surviving general is the winner. Survive the Siege: Defenders need to protect an area and hold out against attackers for a period of time. If attackers capture area, they win. If defenders hold out then they're the winners.
