April 4- Stats file updated
The Stats file has been updated once more.
April 4- Round 2 starts
The last battles have been played and the logfiles have been sent.

Kudos to Ashen who has let RTK9Gaheris pass to round 2 because they couldn't succesfully meet online. RTK9Gaheris has received the avarage amount of FL. saved by all players and has "used" the factions most used by the other players, byzantines&russians.

You can check out the new schedule Here.

EliteofBlizzard will be back in a few days from holiday, as will EliteofKyl.

The games will be set up as follows :
if player A has saved 2000 Fl. and player B has saved 1500 Fl. the florins used in the first battle will be 12000/11500 If player A has spent 11000 and player B has spent 9000 on the first battle, the second battle will be fought with 12500/11000 (offence/defence have switched sides). The players will tell eachother how much florins they saved. If a player does not tell the correct amount,he will be disqualified from the tournament.

I wish the competitors much fun and good luck in the high era, round 2 of the Test of Time Tournament!

March 28 -Update
Marcaurel&Bachus have send the logfiles, thanks :) , and the Stats file is updated with the new info.

March 28 -Update
Due to surcomstances I wasnt able to update the site/tournament. My apologies.

I've rebuild all armies used by the winners and calculated the new amounts of florins saved by the victors.

Also updated the logfile&replay section.

I've ran into problems with logfiles from :
  • EliteofMarcaurel vs {RVN}Alrowan
  • EliteofKyl vs Ithaskar`RW
  • Bachus vs Fingolfin
  • Ex_Krook vs Nigel. I have either not received them, or they are corrupt.
I kindly ask the participants involved to mail them one last time, in a zip file.

The first round is finished except for one last battle :
    RTK9Gaheris vs Ashen.
Once that battle has been played (before Wednesday) the second round will commence.

    March 13 -Request
I urge the following participants to play their battles and/or send the files to me as soon as possible :
  • Wolf_Kansuke
  • ELITEofGAZOZ
  • [CorruptSilence]
  • InsaneJKilla
  • RTK9Gaheris
  • Ashen
so the second round can begin.
    March 9 -New replays&logfiles available
Replays of the battles between ChaosAchilles&CeltiberoAlioven, PFJ_Baby_Jesus&StormofClips are now available.

I've also made a standard form for participants to fill in to make things easier. You can download it here.
    March 3 -New replays&logfiles available
I've uploaded batte replays&logfiles from EX_PM 31 vs RTK9 Palamedes, EX_Krook vs Nigel, and the first battle between PFJ_Baby_Jezus vs StomofClips and the second battle between MK_Znake and EliteofBLizzard.

    all available on the site.

I still need the following people to play their battles :

  • InsaneJKilla
  • RTK9Gaheris
  • Ashen
  • ChaosAchilles
  • CeltiberoAlioven

I'm halfway recalculating the saved florins.
    March 1 -New replays&logfiles available
You can now download replays&logfiles off various battles fought in the last few days.
Check out who won on the participants page.

To all who participate : Please remember to save replays & make a picture of the endscreen, and mail those &the logfiles to me.

I'm currently rebuilding the armies used by the winners to calculate the real florins saved. As soon as thats done it'll be added to the stats-spreadsheet.
    February 24 - Swoosh has defeated RTK9Bedivere
Swoosh won both games vs RTK9Bedivere and proceeds to round 2!
I've uploaded the logfiles&replays, as well as the replays of the battles between EliteofBomilkar&wigsomsinister.

For those who have already fought a battle but are not yet mentioned on this site : Could you please send the logfiles, replays and endscreens (again) to elflands @ hotmail.com ; I had some trouble with my inbox but it should be sorted now.

There have been some reports on the level of florins used not showing properly in the logfiles, I'm investigating that matter now.

On another note : there are no groups in round 1 which will face eachother for sure in round 2; in round 2 anyone could face anyone.
February 22 - Bomilkar defeats wigsomsinister
EliteofBomilkar was victorious in both battles vs wigsomsinister. He too used Russians and Byzantines in the first round. He has saved fl.2992 for the next round!

You can check out the logfiles now, and I'll upload the replays tomorrow.
February 22 - AMP defeats Aleborg
FearAMP defeated Wolf_Aleborg and managed to save 3572 florins for the next round!

He used Byzantines and Russians to win. Check the replays and logfiles on this site to see how he managed to do that.
February 22 - First battles have been played
The first battles in round 1 have been played. Storm of Shields defeated Taiko while attacking and defending. He didn't save much money though, just 16 florins for the next round!

You can find the replays, logfiles and endscreens on this site.

There have been some questions concerning the factions : each faction can be used just once in the tournament. Which means each round 2 different factions will be used. People of Novgorod and the Russians are considered the same. Another question was on the terrain : All battles have to be played on arid unless both players agree to use a different terrain.

February 21 - Tournament starts with 32 competitors
Based upon the results of the poll and the posts in the forums, I've decided to let the first 32 people who signed up play.

For a scedule on who will fight who, click here. The battles of the 1st round will have to be fought in timespan of 10 days maximum. Remember : after the battle, make a screenshot of the results, save the replay & logfile, and mail it all to elflands @ hotmail.com.

I wish all the competitors good luck, but most of all lots of fun ! :).

    February 19 - Too many sign-ups
9 more people signed up; 8 too many, here are my options :
  • I could enter 40 persons in round when where 20 players will be eliminated, dropping from 20 to 10 in round 3, and then have 5 remaining in round 4, where 1 would have to be eliminated to enable 2 1v1's.

Here's my proposal : enter all 40, in round 4 the one with the least money remaining or with the lowest avarave CWB score remaining is dropped from the tournament. (but this is kind of lame for the one who is dropped)

  • Adding another round and 32 more spots is an option, but I highly doubt that we can get 24 more players to join.

  • Stick to the orignal 32, which means 8 people who signed up (last dont get to play.

I'd like to get some opinions from all who entered. Click here to vote in a poll.

Post your reaction on the forums of :
  • The Org
  • The Net
  • Bravenet

Thanks in advance for your input.

    February 19 - Added a rule
Just 4 spots remaining! 28 players so far have signed up.

New rule : Any player who tries to make an agreement about the florins to use in a battle is excluded from the tournament.
This to prevent friends from both picking an 3k army, and thus saving a big amount.
    February 18 - Different rule
The first 11 players have registrered for the tournament.

Instead of letting the cheapest army win when there is a 1-1 score in a round, now the Clan War Belt (CWB) calculation will be applied.
With the CWB the value of the winning army is used to decide the score in case of a tie. That is, the more you got left the better.

This to take away an exploit where a player can use just a peasant unit when he has won the first round, to lower the avarage army cost.

February 17 - Registration is open-
The Test of Time Tournament has started.

Check this site for the rules, other participants and ,once some battles have been played, for the replays and logfiles.

Up to 32 players can compete.
