Shogun: Totalwar takes place in the Sengoku Jidai, which means the age of country at war. There was a great battle of clans for supremacy of all Japan. While the Emperor was well-respected by the general populace, he typically held very little power at all. Shogun: Totalwar captures the feel from this era and places you as the daimyo of one of these great clans. Your aim: unite Japan under your rule, and do it how you please.
