Medieval: Total War, An Egyptian Tale - Sunday, July 28, 2002
A new 3 page preview at IGN called Medieval: Total War, An Egyptian Tale. It's a glimpse of the first few years of a full campaign, told from the perspective of Al-Mustali II, the exalted Sultan of the Egyptians. Original and gives you a feel for the game.

As announced previously the temp forum is now closed. You can view posts but can not post.

It will reopen soon in a more focused version, we're all forum user's will be able to discuss one topic and maybe actually DO something about it.

Meanwhile Cheetah has accepted to extract and classify into something workable all the valuable ideas, input and suggestions posted in that forum for later use.

The Soul will stay on as the regular mod of this forum and has accepted moderator duties for the History/Historical Movies/Culture forum, working with Jaguara and Zen Blade as soon as i can get to it.

Has you may have noticed (or not) Papewaio has joined our staff as a moderator in the Medieval Total War forum. I wish to thank him for taking up these duties and grateful to Shiro for helping him get comfortably installed (i am the one who is supposed to do this-but time is a problem for me right now).

That's it for now and to all that have E-mailed me and have not received a reply yet patience, i will get to you...

Thanks

Kuma

Temporary forum to be temporarily closed. - Monday, July 22, 2002

Some of you have suggested to keep this forum open and i agree but in a much more focused fashion. Why ? By focusing on one subject at a time, we will be able to talk AND DO something about it, bringing progressive changes to the Org forums where it is needed.

A lot of very pertinent and interesting points , suggestions and ideas have been expressed in that forum. I do not want to loose this valuable input and i have E-mailed Cheetah asking if he would be ready to recuperate all this input, classify it for further use by this forum and other avenues at the Org. I am waiting his answer

The Soul has accepted to be the permanent mode of this new focus forum when it comes back on-line. I want to publicly thank him for taking the job in the first place considering the… very unusual circumstances

No more posting will be permitted in the temp forum starting Thursday the 25 of July ( GMT time- you know the time that appears when you post). All patrons will be able to read the posts for some time but all the topics will be closed. New posts will be deletd no matter how good or interesting they are. So keep your good ideas for the re-openeing of this forum!

As Cheetah (or someone else if he is not available) finishes retrieving all that can be usefull in a topic, it will then be deleted . So topics will gradually disappear.

Thanks to all who have participated, especially because for a lot of us, it was in difficult circumstances. Thank you for your input and efforts for making the Org a better place.

Special Note about Offers of Help : I will be working very hard to be able to offer responsibilities to everyone that offered his help in the temp forum or E-mailed me (duties that suits the interests of the volounteers of course). Now, you can’t ALL be mods but there will be a lot of work to do soon. Be patient, you will all be contacted.

I would ask that future offers of help be E-mailed to me at SirKumaOfTheOrg@hotmail.com. Do not post it in the forums.

That’s about it for now.

New temporary forum open - Thursday, July 18, 2002
I have added a temporary forum to openly discuss matters concerning the org, not only the events of the last few days but also some ideas and suggestions for the future of the forums.

The Soul (can't get a better user name to represent this forum) has graciously offered to mod. His contribution to the Org.

It is my hope that all who will post in this forum will show maturity and restraint. So i am opening the windows and pulling back the shades, maybe some fresh air and sunshine will come in. I don't know about you but i need it.

Because part of this forum will be of sensitive nature. Posts and topics must be constructive or they will be simply deleted.

I strongly believe that honest and non-threatening communication is the only way to get over this situation and may even help to build a better org.

But for this to happen, all involved and who care for the org, must help out by participating in a positive way.

Change of the guard and going Medieval.... - Saturday, July 13, 2002
Well i should have done this sooner but i wanted to try out the forum's internal *announcement* system. Instead of getting a lot of this i got a lot of this

Anssi Hakinen our forum administrator has left us a few days ago. He left for the finnish navy. It's compulsatory in Finland (3 years of service in the armed forces). His integrity, eloquence and patience will be missed by all who knew him here. He as given a lot to this community.

Since yesterday evening, you may have noticed changes at the Org's forums . General discussion became Shogun Total War, the Japanese historical forum changed to History/Historical Movies/Culture, description of some forums where changed plus a few other things.

These changes we're a necessary first step to prepare ourselves for the release of Medieval Total War. More changes will follow. They will be done gradually not to send any of our estimed participants into shock, changes can be a difficult thing to live through . that's why we have started now.

If it seems that i am taking over Anssi's duties as forum administrator, you are correct. God help us all!

New Previews and stuff - Wednesday, July 3, 2002
Jed Norton (AKA Darkmoor_Dragon) has previewed Medieval for Games domain. It is a must read for patrons interested in SP, giving us a few good insights about the inner mechanics of the game and the impact it will have strategically and tactically.

Also Dark Phoenix has found a full preview on one of the factions (English)in MTW at IGN. It seems like they are showcasing each faction individually. Reading through this preview gives a real sense of how massive this game will be.

Finally check out the mod and editing forum once in a while, some interesting mods of the demo are already starting to pop-up. Food for the virtual warriors soul, until the release of the game .
