50 new maps by alex (3 packs) - Monday, May 27, 2002

50 new maps made by alex are available for download. The number of 50 might raise an eyebrow, but I can assure you that any of these maps are amongst the best maps ever made. Most maps are hilly, some have rolling terrain and all are very nicely textured.

new pics and new preview at gamespy - Wednesday, May 22, 2002
Some new pics at Gamespy. Not all of them are new, some we're recently posted at totalwar.com. A few very good close-up screen shots, worth a long look.

Thanks to oZoNeLaYeR for the link

There is also a new preview at Gamespy. Pretty general stuff except for the last part that touches a bit on multiplayer, like The Black Ship pointed out (thanks).

Gempeimod - Wednesday, May 22, 2002

The Gempeimod made by Frantz is available for download. It'll offer many hours of fun. The zip file contains an easy to use installer and a zipfile containing important original files. It does not contain 1530 Campaign.mpg or Outro.mpg from the Movies directory, you might want to backup those before installing this great mod.

Preview-Interview at PCGamer - Sunday, May 12, 2002
I finally found a link to PCGamer's Medieval: TotalWar preview-interview. The article starts off slow for us maniacs who already now what the new game will be about.

But hang on, it gets interesting when Michael de Plater starts talking about how they are approaching balance versus all those different units, when they name us specific defensive features that can be added to a castle or when they give us a pretty clear idea how the strategic part of the game will be enhanced with the adding of RPG style elements like vices and vertues to all main characters.

It'S worth the read...

New screen shots - Thursday, May 9, 2002
At the Totalwar.com gallery, 18 new battle scenes. There is a lot of good close ups of different units, some new backgrounds and a couple of shots of a BIG castle. Looking good!

Thanks to Knight of nee for the info

Also there has been 18 new strategy map screenshots added, though not as spectacular as the battle scenes, they give us a peek at stuff we did not get any info on yet. For example the water divided with black lines, like provinces, with a navy from a specific country controlling these waters, new units we did not know of, character traits of leaders and...go see for yourself

Thanks to Richie Skinner for pointing this out to me.
