New screen shots - Thursday, April 18, 2002
Some new screen shots can be found at To the game. A few of us are wondering, we think that the sprites do look much better than in STW. What do you think?

Thanks to TosaInu for pointing out the link.

Also the Shogun at the second best forum for the Total War series :) (OK it's the official forum), is asking patrons to post medieval FAQ questions about the new game for the CA staff so they can build the FAQ for the game. This is your opportunity to get some of your questions answered.

Thanks to the Count of Flanders for the info and the link

End of Clans Campaign - Tuesday, April 9, 2002
The Clans Campaign has finally ended after six months of tight play. The ultimate winner was the great Clan Elite-Force. The winner of the ronin competition was Orker Ii. Congratulations! Following is a quote from RageKrast who was one of the gamesmasters of the campaign.

Being reduced to only two participating Clans, we have voted to discontinue play and award the Victory to:

Clan Elite Force.

With the largest holding of provinces and a history of many victories, this Clan stands tall among the participants of the STW community with this great achievement.

Of particular note are HARALD and FOGOLIN, who, in their many posts here at the forum, provided the leadership to take their Clan to the end.

The Gamemaster also wishes to honour:

Les Marechaux de Napoleon,

who did not give up even when reduced to a very small holding of land partway through the game. You may note that the Marechaux made an extra effort in this game, having very few players who understood english sufficiently to understand all the rules and posts in their original language.

To remind you of the entire list of participants from the beginning, we also have:

The Grey Wolves
Ikebana
The Rusty Cowboys
Shingi Clan
Clan Luna Rossa
Clan Kenchikuka
Rage Clan
Torii Aku
Shades of Shogun
Yagyu Clan
Ninja of Hattori
True Samurais; and
Sommo Clan

participating in our game.

Of the eight players entering the game for the Ronin competition, we find

Orker Ii

the winner with a total booty of 2880 koku.

Also completing the campaign in the Ronin competition were:

Hamhock Toda with 1560 koku (and the "Krast's Favourite Ally" prize); and
Fucy Ii with 660 koku.

Ronin participants who left during the course of the game included:

Jemasze
MajorDump
WarlordLegend
Youssof; and
JerichoPrime

Please also note the contributions of CeltiberoSkullXIII, who gave us the finely coloured maps for the first turns of the game, Magyarkhan for the web hosting, LionGazoz for his excellent work as gamemaster and Cannon for his work as assistant gamemaster.

The original rules design team included Krast (George Duff), Cannon (Damon Fry), LionGazoz (Aziz Kaba) and Magyarkhan (Joska Paszli). Additional contributors to the rules discussion are too many to name.

Krast also wishes to thank all of the individual participants for taking the time to make this amateur gaming experience come alive.

As a participant up to the time RageClan left the game, as RageKrast this player experienced some of the most powerful, emotional moments in his online gaming life. The battles, fighting for your Clan, and having your teammates depending on you, made each game a more serious, intense and enoyable gaming experience than any other.

Krast invites you to congratulate yourselves for sharing this experience with each other.

Now, on to the next adventure .... Gah!

On behalf of TotalWar.Org we wish to say thanks to the organisers for the making and running of this great event which kept the community united!
