| IGN.com has announced their 2004 IGN PC Best of Awards. Rome Total War won the awards for "Best Strategy Game" and "Best Use of Sound". Although Rome Total War's soundtrack was described as "absolutely magnificent" in the "Best Use of Sound" write up, Jeff van Dyck's musical score did not even receive mention in the "Best Soundtrack" award. For the big prize, Half-Life 2 eeked out Rome Total War for the coveted "PC Game of the Year" award. The tie-breaker in this dead heat came down to Half-Life 2's "accessibility of gameplay" reaching a wider audience. Its the Invasion of the Tsin Empire.
