CWC - Sunday, December 28, 2003
A TRIPLE ANNOUNCEMENT
Some Good News from the Administration of the Clan Wars Competition.

2003 FALL CHAMPIONSHIP
Our current Contest for the Fall Championship has battled down to four Contestant Clans. Paired for the Third Round of this spectacular Seasonal Competition are the:

Taiwan Cavaliers and Clan Celtiberos
Les Marechaux de Napoleon and Grey Wolves

We anxiously await the outcome of their Matches to see who will be the two Finalist Contenders for the Fall Title. Again, please wish them luck when you see them, they will need all they can get as the competition gets more fierce with every Round of every Season.

2004 WINTER AND MEDIEVAL TOTAL WAR GRAND CHAMPIONSHIPS
With Rome Total War on the menu for the end of this coming year, we will be changing the order originally laid out for our MTW Seasonal Contests. Instead of our planed 2003 Year End Final, we will be extending the Seasonal Series with one more Competition. The 2004 Winter Games will be next on the agenda. That’s one more chance for our Member Clans to earn their entrance into the Mother of all CWC Contests to date, the Finale of the Medieval Era, our new one time only Clan Wars Competition - Medieval Total War Grand Championship! Will your Clan be there?

CWC PRE-CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENTS
Beginning this next year on January 1st, Clan Wars will be holding the first of an ongoing series of monthly Tournaments. These Games are intended to provide a means of practice for our Member Clans, and to hopefully introduce the excitement of 4v4 Clan vs. Clan competition to Clans who have not yet participated in CWC. These will be the easiest Contests to enter and complete ever, with no Registration, no Sign-Up, and no in game Rules! Well only one Rule, that of Good Conduct. All participating Clan members are expected to conduct themselves Honorably, with Courtesy and Respect for All. Any violation of this could well result in disqualification of “all” of that Clans entries into the Contest.

OK, here’s how it works. Any time you can get four Clan Members together online, and find another Clan with four members, you can present them with a Challenge to a PCT (Pre-Championship Tournament) game. Their agreement, and acceptance of a proposed Map, Florins and Attack/Defend Deployments (negotiations may be required), will make it an Official PCT Match. Fight the Battle. Then send an email with the Logfile, to clanwars@hotmail.com to have the Match Recorded. Later we hope to have an “auto Evaluation and Entry site”, but email will have to do until then.

Scoring will be for the Victors only, derived from the total number of enemy, minus the total number of losses. All Matches dated in the same month will be analyzed and compared against each other to provide a Clan Teams Ladder for that month.

Any member with a Clan moniker, can play with any Team mix of their Clan members, in any number of Battles. It is our intention by initiating these PCT Games, to provide an opportunity for every member of every Clan to participate as often as it can be arranged, in the fun of these epic Battles. We hope you will join in!

Hall Of Fame Awards 2003 - Tuesday, December 16, 2003
The end of the year is approaching once again. The community has been shook by the release of another Total War game, and the new Viking version has enabled modding to enter a new golden era. Modders have been able to create great games based on many different scenarios, from Hellenic to Napoleonic; Middle Earth to Sengoku.

Constantly there is news of the massively anticipated Rome:Total War being spoon-fed to us by CA, keeping the hungry hippos alive but never overfeeding. The Rome Total War game can only be considered as mouth-watering. Some of us are lucky enough to even see parts of the game on the TV show, Time Commanders.

On top of this, there are more ongoing competitions than ever, each providing us with a glimpse of the skills posessed by the top players.

And once again the Total War meeting was a success, everybody who attended enjoyed themselves to the fullest.

Well, it is time once again to recognise some of the achievements in the past year, and the achievers that made them. The Hall Of Fame Awards will take place in the near future, with the nominations hopefully opening by the coming weekend.

The HOF covers all of Total War, from Shogun through to the very latest ... Shogun mod, and is not just for multiplayer but single player too. Nominations will open in a new special forum at the Guild (the Org Forums) whereby patrons will be able post their nominations before the voting takes place. All that is necessary is that you have an acoount at th forums.

So if you think someone deserves noteworthy attention, prepare a list of nominations: the awards will begin soon and if you want someone to win it is your vote that counts.

Look for the next announcement which will be for the opening of the forum.

Thank you all, have fun and enjoy.

Time Commanders Needs Help! - Saturday, December 13, 2003
Its been a long time since my last post on totalwar.org now im working and everything, i will try and post a little more now though.

Have you ever wondered how you can repay the guys that make you number one TV show? Well now you can!

Adam posted this on the Wargamesdirectory forum:

"Hello everybody - I'm the Exec Producer of Time Commanders from Lion TV. We have just completed the editing of the final shows for this run. I just wanted to let you know that the production team have all been regular readers of this forum - its been great to get all of this feedback during the production process.

Next week's show is the last before Xmas and then BBC Two are playing out the final two episodes in the New Year. Chalons is a real cracker - very funny stuff.

The BBC are currently debating whether to go for a second series for 2004. I think they will, but these things can take time. If anybody feels moved to contact the BBC and let them know how much you have liked the show and that you want to see a second series, then the number to call is 08700 100 222. It would be a great help.

Have a good Xmas"

So call up the BBC and let them know you liked the show! Of course you can e-mail them too although it will probably have lesser impact: www.bbc.co.uk/info/contactus/form.shtml

Show your support to keep this great show alive! or its back to watching snooker on bbc 2!

Complete Total War Unit guide released - Saturday, December 13, 2003
I have finally finished writing the Complete Total War Unit Guide. It covers every single unit in Shogun: Total War, The Mongol Invasion (collectively called Shogun: Warlords), Medieval: Total War and the Viking Invasion. Each unit has its statistics, cost, upkeep cost, and a small section on how it stands up to others of its category. There is also an in-depth, illustrated strategy section for each and every unit type so you can find out how best to use each and every unit.

There is always space for improvement so please drop by and add anything you feel I have missed.
