How to edit unit stats without leaving MTW, -reload option on
command line
From GilJaySmith
The undocumented -reload option on
the MTW command line will make the game reload the unit stats (and
the projectile stats) with each new MP game.
This should make
it somewhat faster for people to test stat changes for MP games,
since you won't have to log out of GameSpy and restart MTW between
each change.
Something along these lines was requested by
TosaInu if I remember rightly.
Hope it works... :)

it sounds
great. but forgive me that I'm new starter of modding, how
do you actually do that? do you type in something at the short
cut command line? could someone please teach me
that? |
Yep, you edit the shortcut for MTW so the Target box
says something like
"C:\Program Files\Total War\Medieval -
Total War\Medieval_TW.exe" -reloadGil ~ CA

thank Gil.
I haven't got the chance to try yet (at work now) but it would
be great if this feature also works under SP. |
Just checked, no it doesn't, sorry. Only when you host
or join an internet or LAN game.

slightly cna effect what is just Custom battle against a human

To join an MP game you have to have the
exact same map file, production files, and relevant startpos
file. If any of these are different, you'll be locked out of
the game.
The alternative would be to allow people to
join with different files, in which case the game would just
go out of sync shortly after you hit the battlemap.
So:
change them back
